My mother moved to England because she couldn't stand the sight of Scotland anymore. She didn't like the dreary, miserable weather and the dreary, miserable people. She wanted to live in a country where out national teams win at sport, and don't almost get beat at football by the likes of the Faeroe Islands or get beat at rugby by the likes of Wales.
Talking about sports with funny-shaped balls, you Americans must know all about that. You have a sport that you call "football" and the balls that they have in that sport are the same shape as rugby. But it's a mystery why you call it football because most of the time you carry the ball in your hand. Except the "football" players themselves have no actual balls considering all the "armour" that they like to wear. They have HUGE padding on the shoulders and helmets on. Wimps compared to rugby players and even then the game keeps stopping every five seconds.
